PARVI Code of Ethics
The Professional Association of Recreational Vehicle Inspectors (PARVI) upholds the highest ethical standards to ensure that PARVI Certified RV Inspectors conduct inspections with fairness, professionalism, and impartiality. Inspectors must avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise the credibility of their inspection reports or the professional standing of PARVI.
The following Code of Ethics establishes the ethical principles by which every client and RV inspection shall be conducted.
Code of Ethics #1: Objectivity in Reporting
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall remain objective in their reporting, neither understating nor exaggerating the details or impact of inspection findings.
Code of Ethics #2: Professional Competence
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall conduct inspections and communicate findings, whether written or verbal, based on genuine conviction and strictly within their education, skills, training, and experience.
Code of Ethics #3: Client Confidentiality
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall not disclose inspection findings, test results, or client information without the client’s explicit approval. However, inspectors may disclose observed hazards that could impact occupant safety and well-being.
Code of Ethics #4: Avoidance of Financial Conflicts
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall not inspect, for compensation, any recreational vehicle in which they have or anticipate having a financial interest in the inspection’s outcome.
Code of Ethics #5: Prohibition of Contingent Fees
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall not conduct inspections under any form of compensation, contingent fee, or future referral arrangement that is dependent on the inspection findings or the sale of the RV.
Code of Ethics #6: Prohibition of Undue Influence
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall not directly or indirectly compensate any party with a financial interest in the sale, lease, or rental of an RV.
Code of Ethics #7: Transparency in Compensation
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall not accept payment for an RV inspection from more than one party unless all parties agree to the arrangement in advance.
Code of Ethics #8: No Compensation for Referrals
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall not accept direct or indirect compensation for recommending service providers, products, or features to parties with an interest in the RV being inspected.
Code of Ethics #9: Restrictions on Repairs and Services
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall not repair, service, or upgrade any RV systems or components covered by the PARVI Standards of Practice for a minimum of one year following the inspection date.
Code of Ethics #10: Commitment to Public Trust
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall avoid any actions that could harm the public, discredit themselves, or undermine public confidence in the RV inspection profession.
Code of Ethics #11: Honest Marketing Practices
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall not market, advertise, or promote their inspection services or qualifications in a manner that is deceptive, false, or misleading.
Code of Ethics #12: Upholding Professional Integrity
PARVI Certified RV Inspectors shall actively work to maintain and enhance the professional integrity of PARVI membership. Any willful violation of the PARVI Code of Ethics or Standards of Performance shall be reported to PARVI for review and potential disciplinary action.
By adhering to these ethical principles, PARVI Certified RV Inspectors ensure the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and trustworthiness in the RV inspection industry.
